Meds ... Weight ... and Growth ....

How can you have fun with MEDS with a G-Tube child?  Well it's possible....

First off....... have fun with color .....  we use different brands of meds sometimes to change the meds colors, but you could totally add a little food coloring to it...

Nathan was MAD though! Why? Because his meds were blue! Oh no!

He wanted them RED!

So as HOMESCHOOLERS we try to find fun ways (and everyday things) to do school work.  So for weeks I would try to get the meds to suspend instead of combine.  This is how it normally turned out - still pretty cool right?  But I was frustrated.....

Until FINALLY I got the meds to suspend!!!  Yell for all the kids and show them ... ha ha ha...

G-TUBE PARENT PROBLEM #234 ....  When it actually works, and they gain weight, you have to buy new clothes.  Cuz he doesn't NEED skinny jeans anymore, they are too tight! Not to mention his size 4 underwear is leaving MARKS on him....

Now - keep in mind that Nathan is almost 8 years old.  At the time of his surgery on June 24th 2014 - G-Tube Surgery - he was 29-30 lbs.  When he started his feeds on July 10th 2014 ... he was about 30 lbs.  So from that time - to almost 8 months later ....  he has gained 15 to 18 lbs.  This from the kid who would only gain a POUND or TWO in a year.

It's shocking, mind blowing, and still ........ I'm in awe.  He's HEAVY and he's got a belly and a BUTT and he has fat on him.  And I worry he is gaining weight too fast.  Now we might have the opposite problem!

This is our at home scale and at the Doctor's a few days later he was 48 lbs on their scale.

Oye!!
